The Watchman's Comments on the Beast
In Oct. 1994, after three years of "intense"
study on Daniel’s 70th
week, the rapture, and Alexander’s Greek Empire (Dan.
8:1-12); as I was looking over a particular map of the
Middle East, The Holy Spirit "opened my eyes",
and let me see a cat like figure (beast), imbedded in the
political borders" of the Middle East. Frankly, it
BLEW MY MIND and still does today! I had looked over that
area on a world atlas many times before, but had never
seen it. After studying this for years now, I’m
under the opinion this is definitely one of THE SIGNS IN
THE EARTH Peter spoke about in Acts 2:19 AND I WIL SHEW
WONDERS IN THE HEAVEN ABOVE, AND SIGNS IN THE EARTH
BENEATH; BLOOD AND FIRE, AND VAPOUR OF SMOKE. I can’t
help but wonder if those signs in the HEAVEN ABOVE,
couldn’t be those things like the "S" in
the sun, etc. We mentioned on our front page
I don’t think it’s mere coincidence that over 70% of the world’s KNOWN OIL RESERVES lie underneath the sands of this beast, therefore, you could say THE BLOOD OF THIS BEAST IS OIL, and HIS HEART WOULD BE IRAQ! Whenever this beast kingdom arises, WORLD OIL PRICES WILL MOST LIKELY "SKYROCKET", if one could even get the oil in the first place. This will make the OPEC oil crises of 1973, look like a picnic. Right now Americans are "whining" and crying the blues about the recent gas price increase from March 99, thru April 99. What’s going to happen when this beast empire comes together? Talk about "road rage".
Now this "beast kingdom" could not have been seen on a map before 1917. It was at this time, the participants of the Versailles peace treaty met in France at the end of WWI, and changed the borders of the Middle East area, similar to how they actually are today. You could say then the beast first became visible as a sign in the earth in 1917.It was also in 1917, that "Yugoslavia" was sectioned off into ethnic territories, which gave root to the modern hatred we see boiling over there today.
There are, as best as I can tell 22 Arab countries that comprise this beast kingdom.. It’s HEAD is Turkey (Rev. 13:2). , and that’s why we need to keep a close eye on this "only" NATO country in the beast. As the head goes, so goes the body. As we speak, strong radical Islamic forces are attempting to replace their secular government with a fundamental Islamic Government.; and when that happens WATCH OUT! The BEARS FOOT is Yemen, with Oman and UAI as connecting countries to the hindquarters (Rev. 13:2). The beast’s torso like a leopard is IRAN (Rev. 13:2). I believe the seven heads, (Rev. 13:2) are 7-Arab "squatter" countries, which have had their borders, planted on land God gave Abraham (read about the royal land grant in Gen. 15:18-21). They probably are: 1.) Lebanon, 2) Syria, 3) Iraq, 4.) Jordan, 5.) Saudi-Arabia (uppermost boarder), 6.) Egypt, and 7.) The future Palestinian State. The "seven heads" would naturally be closer to Israel, and more important to the mission of the beast, than the 10 horns: which are on top of the head, and thus farther away from Israel, and of lesser importance to the mission of the beast. Except for Turkey and Iran, which gain their importance from being associated with the head of a lion, and the torso of the leopard, these are countries comprising the tail, and lower hindquarter area (the beast could get along without the tail). These 10 horn countries (Rev. 13:2) probably are 1.) Turkey, 2.) Iran, 3.) Kuwait, 4.) Afghanistan, 5.) Turkmenistan, 6.) Uzbekistan, 7.) Tajikistan, 8.) Pakistan (at the end of the tail, 9.) Qatar, and 10.) Bahrain. Finally, we have the two steps 1.) Libya, and 2.) Ethiopia mentioned in Dan.11: 43. That is one reason the book of Daniel must be interpreted, along-side the book of Revelation. The book of Daniel is to the old testament, as the book of Revelation is to the New Testament, in that the Book of Daniel reveals the coming antichrist (king of the north around Iraq toward the end of Dan.11, whereas the book of Revelation reveals the coming Christ!
I would like to mention an interesting tid-bit. According to Bullinger’s excellent book "Numbers In Scripture", on page #262, the number 22 (as in 22 countries) represent "disorganization" and "DISINTEGRATION".
I believe this picture of THE BEAST OF REVELATION, represents the prophesied "LATTER END" OF ALEXANDER THE GREAT’S KINGDOM, mentioned in Dan. 8:17-27. It’s very possible this beast will rise out of the "Arabian Sea", sometime next spring 2000, or BEFORE! By studying carefully the map of ALEXANDER’S GREEK EMPIRE (see picture), I believe you will find all of the 22 countries mentioned above in the "FORMER GREEK EMPIRE", mentioned in Dan. 8:1-12. (With the exception of the bears foot and the two connecting countries added later by Rev. 13:2). Therefore, the beast like figure YOU SHOULD NOW BE SEEING CLEARLY ON ANY MAP OF THE MIDDLE EAST, IS ACTUALLY SCRIPTURALY SOUND BASED ON THE "FORMER KINGDOM" OF ALEXANDER THE GREAT (DAN. 8:1-12)!
When you look at the beast imbedded in the actual map, you notice some interesting things. First, it appears this beast arises out of the "ARABIAN" SEA with great force, in so much it broke it’s back leg, and actually "chipped" the Ethiopian step. With the beast having a" broken leg", he might only be able to inflict his "great tribulation" around those three continents, Asia, Europe, and Africa, and primarily Israel stuck in the center. That total land area comprises about 25% of the total land area in the world (see Rev. 6:8 the "forth" part of the earth-not people as some say). The fourth seal will probably be opened a short time prior to the beginning of the "great tribulation" which occurs at the opening of the fifth seal (Rev. 6:9-11). Of course, Turkey really looks like a lion’s head on any good map, and according to a taxidermist, Yemen definitely looks like a bear’s foot. Now along the back of that beast you will notice the "sway" of a leopard body. Also isn’t it interesting how Almighty God, made that "front lion’s paw to lay on top of the front step LIBYA. Jesus formed that "hump "on LIBYA to represent the front paw, not man! Deut 32:8 declares God set those bounds according to the children of Israel. Jesus formed the beast on the map, back in 1917, not me! I did however interpolate the " tail area" a little. If you study the country of Afghanistan, you will notice at the far right side, a little "fluffy" like extension, which looked, like the end of a lion’s tail. Since the tail area seems of lesser importance, I simply worked backward from that "fluffy" area of the tale, and "slimmed down" that area to resemble a real cat’s tail. If you will notice carefully, all those other countries were included a little bit around that tale. If that bothers you, then in your mind, just consider Afghanistan the tail" ad it really does look on a map.
Isn’t it interesting, that a little fire, has been set in KOSOVO, that possibly could "engulf" that whole area. Kosovo might actually be a little flame that goeth before the fire!
One final observation about that beast It is of the "cat" family, and CATS ARE BLOOD THIRSTY KILLERS. Stray tom cats (this Islamic beast), sometimes wander in, and "try" to take over another tom cats territory (owned by the Lion of Judah!). When he sneaks in, he goes all around the boundary of his new territory and "SPRAYS A MARK" on (royal land grant-Gen.15: 18) the other cats territory. Now the problem is this: If the tom cat who had the land FIRST "comes back" there’s going to be a big fight (Armageddon) on the land, and THE STRONGER CAT (LION OF JUDAH) will absolutely make the "fire fly" and totally whip the lesser cat (Islamic beast empire, who goes around acting "like" a roaring lion seeking whom he may devour). The greater cat, the Lion of the Tribe of Judah, will however "devour" the beast!
If you do not believe the above observations, concerning that beast in the map, then what could it be? I have done my best to study it out, but freely admit I don’t have all the answers.
